Residence Inn by Marriott Washington, DC/Foggy Bottom

Very comfortable hotel with spacious rooms and kitchens - really convenient in the heart of Foggy Bottom (around the corner from GWU and Whole Foods). The rooms need updating, but are generally roomy and comfortable. Service is mostly outstanding (check-in was great, food service is great, check-out not so great). The elevators are really slow and they have a really annoying keycard requirement that is impossibly slow and difficult to use. Seems unnecessary since there is always someone at the front desk for security. I mentioned this to the gentleman at check out and he just stared at me with a look that I was some kind of moron. Aside from that, great stay and I will stay again.

Indeed, a wonderful location: close to many point of interest, near metro, yet it is quiet. Excellent front desk customer service. The interior of the hotel and the rooms are a bit dated but clean and supplied with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. The bed was comfortable and our room was spacious. Breakfast was good but particularly memorable were people serving it: quick, with a smile, professional. Bottom line: this is not a place for a "romantic getaway", it is not a "hidden gem", either. However, it offers excellent service, central location, comfortable rooms at a reasonable price.

Excellent Hotel! I had the privilege of staying here for over a month. Their staff is friendly and helpful. It felt like home. Khalid is an excellent lead who makes it his priority to ensure you are cared for. Akilah welcomes you so warmly when you arrive and every moment after. She always has a smile on her face and works to put one on yours. Antionette keeps the whole building in beautiful condition. Our room always smelled wonderful and was cleaned with care. Also the food is excellent! When compared with other Residence Inn's in DC, it is top notch. They have a rotating menu and care for vegetarians specifically. This is a great location with close access to the metro and the Mall, but above that the people who work here are amazing. I am very grateful for my time here under this staff's care.

Location is excellent, just two minutes from Foggy Bottom metro. You also have a Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s within walking distance. The room has everything you need, including a kitchen area (microwave and hobs). The bed was comfortable, although the pillows are very soft. One very strange choice is in the bedding. The duvet is not put inside a case, instead a sheet is loosely wrapped around it, resulting in everything coming off during the night. This should be changed for sanitary reasons. For an American hotel the breakfast was good, hot items and cold, with decent coffee. I did have some problems with the heating system, it stopped working at some points, but it was always fixed very promptly. Staff are polite and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

It was my first here with my family. Excellent customer service at the desk and from other staff members I ran across. The breakfast buffet had a lot of good options to choose from. Overall a 10/10 experience. Thanks again.

Excellent location, close to metro station, grocery, restaurants and attractions. Staff was very friendly, warm and helpful. Room was clean and breakfast was standard for Residence Inn.

Very comfortable beds in separate rooms with blackout curtains. Quiet, spacious suites, and the continential breakfast is a bit different every day, including a hot vegetarian option. The fitness room is quite small, but includes a couple of aerobic machines and some dumbbells.
